What is the New England
White Privilege Symposium?
Dozens of White Privilege Symposiums seek to bring this robust model of engagement and action to regional areas. We're excited that Lesley University is once again hosting WPS/New England this fall while we simultaneously celebrate the work and talents of our local community. We are expecting upwards of 500 people from sectors that include high school and college students, K-12 and higher education faculty, grassroots activists, social workers, nonprofit and government employees, and members of the spiritual/faith community, among others. A high level of diversity among the participants helps make WPS unique and inspiring as a learning area for change.
The WPC is a 20-year international conference founded by Dr. Eddie Moore Jr. This high energy and loving community space allows attendees to learn Moore about concepts of white supremacy, power, privilege, leadership, oppression and the impact of structural inequities. The WPC offers various opportunities for building community, interactive learning, and action planning. It's a safe space to seek truth, speak truth and take action. National conferences have drawn more than 3,000.
